Policies and fees

INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT

Unfortunately I am not an in-network provider on any insurance panels and I do not take insurance except for Lyra Health EAP.  If you have an “out of network” benefit through your insurance company you may be able to be reimbursed for a portion of my fee, and I will provide you with a monthly “superbill” for this purpose through the client portal.  If you have a Health Savings Account or other healthcare payment card, you can enter the card in the client portal.

MEDICARE

Unfortunately, I am opted out of the Medicare program and cannot accept Medicare patients.  If you are a Medicare beneficiary, billing limits do not apply to my charges since I am opted out of the Medicare system. I will do what I can to help you secure Medicare reimbursed services from another qualified practitioner.

PROFESSIONAL FEES

My fee is $250.00 for 50 minutes of individual therapy.  In some circumstances, I may be able to offer a sliding scale to provide a lower cost in the case of financial need or hardship.

BILLING AND PAYMENTS

The most efficient way for me to have a practice is to have administrative details such as payment and appointments automatically handled through your confidential client portal.  The client portal will request a debit or credit card number and, unless other arrangements are made or you are a Lyra client, that card will be charged after each session.  If this arrangement does not work for you, let me know right away and we can make other arrangements for payment.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.  If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.

CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING

Sessions are usually scheduled for 50 minutes, although on occasion some sessions may be longer or shorter. I require 24 hours advance notice of cancellation by email. For rescheduling, I’ll be flexible and workable as I am able.
